Tara Sutaria is an Indian actress. She was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India in 1995, 19th November. She is a Gujrati origin. Her mother is a Zoroastrian belonging to the Parsi community and Himanshu Sutaria, her father is a Hindu. She has a twin sister as well.  Star is the meaning of her name in  Sanskrit. Her early education focused on the arts, particularly dance and music. She attended A. F. Petit Girls High School in Mumbai and later studied at St. Andrew’s College. She received training in classical ballet, modern dance, and Indian dance at the School of Classical Ballet and Western Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, both in the UK. She also learned guitar and piano. She has been a professional singer since the age of seven, in operas and competitions since then.

Television Career

Tara Sutaria started her career as a video jockey in Big Bada Boom associated with Disney Channel India. She then continued associating with them and did successful sitcoms as the main lead in “The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir” and “Oye Jassie”. She also had episodic appearances in other Disney Channel India shows like “Best of Luck Nikki” and “Shake it Up”.  In 2011 She appeared in “Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega” and Won INR 10,000 on the show.

As a Singer

Abroad Tara Sutaria has been recording songs for films and advertisements as well as in India. She did her original work, Slipping Through My Fingers is a part of the Production of Bharat Dhabholkar’s Blame It On Yashraj of Ashwin Gidwani. She also did solo concerts in London, Tokyo, Lavasa, and Mumba and recorded some songs. She performed along with Louiz Banks and Mikey McCleary. For over a decade, she was a soloist for the Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble, singing at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, a cultural institution in Mumbai. Was one of the top seven of the “Pogo Amazing Kids Awards” in 2008 or the singer category.

As a Film Artist

Tara  Sutaria made her debut in 2019 in the film Punit Malhotra‘s Student of the Year 2, which is a standalone sequel. She was paired with Tiger Shroff; it was a coming-of-age movie produced by Karan Johar. She was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut but the film did not perform well in commercials. She was chosen for the character of Jasmine, in the Hollywood production but lost the role to Naomi Scott. In the movie Marjavaan she played the role of a mute teacher. She acted alongside Siddharth Malhotra and Ritesh Deshmukh. The movie globally gains a gross of ₹65.35 crores. She was then paired with debutante Ahan Shetty in 2021 for the Milan Luthria movie Tadap, a romantic thriller that was a remake of the Telugu film RX 100. The movie got received mixed reviews from critics

In 2022, she was then reunited with Tiger Shroff in actioner Heropanti 2, by Ahmed Khan. The movie received a lot of negative reviews from critics. Her role was also criticized. Considered a major commercial failure. The following year her second release was the thriller  Ek Villain Returns. She starred opposite Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, and Disha Patani. The movie was panned by the critics and it was Tara Sutaria’s 3rd consecutive failure. She then acted for the Disney+ Hotstar movie Apurva, the movie got mixed reviews but critics appreciated her acting. In 2026, she will appear in the movie Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups a bilingual movie. She will appear along with Yash, one of the highest-paid Kannada artist.

Music Videos

Tara Sutaria also starred in music videos, for singer Tulsi Kumar, Sachet Tandon “Masakali 2.0” in 2020. In 2023 “Mulaqat” by Prateek Kuhad and “Pyaar Aata Hai” in 2025 by Shreya Ghoshal, Rito Riba. She also appeared in the music video for the song “Hum Hindustani in 2021 along other actors.

Tara Sutaria has interests beyond acting, including singing, dancing, and cooking. She also has a passion for fashion and has participated in fashion weeks. She did a ramp walk for Lakmé Fashion Week. for various magazines., She has been a cover model. She was the 8^th highest trending personality on Google in 2019 from India.  Sutaria was placed 13^th in 2019 on Times’ 50 Most Desirable Women and 12^th  in the year 2020 in the of Times’ 50 Most Desirable Women list. Additionally, she is involved in animal welfare and feminism. She is a celebrity endorser for several brands like Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Hazoorilal Legacy Jewellers, Olay India and Suroskie hair care. She has also been featured in ad campaigns for MADAME, ITC Savlon, and Nature 4 Nature. Additionally, she has been associated with fashion brands like Mohey and caprese.
