Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan also known as Salman Khan is the most popular Indian actor film star, producer, Philanthropist and television personality. He was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India in 1965 ON 27TH December. His father Salim Khan (Muslim) is a screen writer and his mother is Sushila Charak (Hindu). He has 2 brothers Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan, both of them are producers and film stars as well and two sisters. Salman Khan studied at St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai. He also studied for few years from Scindia School in Gwalior with his brothers. He then took admission in Xavier college but later he dropout. He had multiple relationships at different time periods, but is still single.

His Career Debut

Salman khan put a step into the industry with a supporting role in Rekah Jee’s movie Biwi Hou tou Aesi. In the following year, he worked opposite Bhagyashree in Sooraj Barjatya’s romantic musical Maine Pyar Kiya. The film was a super hit, it was a blockbuster that made Salman a Star.  He then actin the movie Baaghi: A Rebel for Love, whose script was also written by him. That movie was also a hit. His movies Sanam Bewafa and Saajan were the emerging blockbusters. Their albums were the best songs album of the year. Kurbaan and Patthar Ke Phool also took part in making him popular. But later continuously for 2 years his work in the downturn, his every film was a commercial failure.

As an Established Actor

Salman Khan then appeared in Andaz Apna Apna, movie did not get a hit at the time of release. But it got cult status over the year. He then worked on Hum Aapke Hain Kon which was a block buster. The movie got 3 awards 3 Film fare Awards for Best Film, Director and Actress. for being the most popular film of the year Hum Aap Kay Hain Kon won the National Award. This movie is one of the biggest hit of Indian Cinema.

He then played successful roles in Jeet, Judwaa Pyaar Kiya Tou Darna Kya, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai and Auzaar. He then played a role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which earned a Film Fare Award as a supporting character. Biwi No.1, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam were also the movies that got him nominated for awards.

From 2001 to 2009 he had sporadic success. He did movies like Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Tumhare Hain Sanam, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, and London Dreams. Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, and No Entry which was a comedy movie in the following you will think Khan is best as a comedy hero. Salman Khan played the main lead in the movie Tere Naam, that is considered his best character portrait. According to experts, he was as exceptional as Radhe Mohan. Between 2018 and 2025, Salman Khan’s filmography saw a mix of critical and commercial results. He did Race 3 and Bharat with moderate success. Dabbang 3 that underperformed at the box office. Kick 2 was delayed, and Radhewas met with negative reviews. Antim: The Final Truth featured him in a secondary role and was a box-office flop, though his performance drew praise. In 2023, he made a cameo in Pathan and starred in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which received mixed reviews. Later that year, Tiger 3, part of the YRF Spy Universe, became a hit, grossing over ₹466 crores globally. In 2024, he appeared in cameos in Singham Again and Baby John. His 2025 film Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, featured him opposite Rashmika Mandanna and earned mixed reviews.

Other than being a fil maker he owned a product company named SKBH Productions (Salman Khan Being Human Productions). The money earned under this production house are consumed in charity. He also has SKF, production house of film making. He is a host of television, he hosted number of shows and award shows. 10 Ka Dum, Star Guild Award and Bigg Boss season 4 to 18.

Salman is brand ambassador for numerous products, including Exide Batteries, GRM, and Thumps Up. He also endorsed Campa Cola, Hero Honda bikes, and Double Bull shirts before entering the film industry. Additionally, he has been associated with IIFA as a brand ambassador He has number of businesses in housing food etc.
