Banita Sandhu is a Welsh actress of Indian Descent She was born in Caerleon, Newport, Wales, United Kingdom, on 1997 June 22. Her parents first-generation British Sikhs.  Her father’s name is Gurdeep Sandhund mother is Surinder Sandhu She has a sister named Devina Sandhu. Her hobbies include Reading, Dancing & Watching Movies. She was fond of movies since her childhood.

Banita Sandhu received her early education from Rouge Mont School, Newport. She was the Head Girl of her school with a straight-A record. She lived in Welsh and later went to London. She studied in London where she Attended King’s College London. She has degree in English Literature from King’s College London. She can speak Spanish and English, and later she then learned Hindi and Tamil for film projects.

Banita Sandhu began acting at a young age, signing with an agency at 11, throughout her childhood she worked with BBC. She is known for her work in film and television, both in India and internationally. She began acting and later transitioned to a professional career while attending King’s College London. Before the completion of her graduation her 1^st movie “October” was released.

Banita Sandhu first began her career as a model. She appeared in various Indian television advertisements 1stly in Vodafone U and then in Double-mint Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se advertisement. People started recognizing her after the dance video of this ad.  She made her film debut in the Hindi language film of Rising Sun Films Kino Works, October in 2018.  she was costarred with Varun Dhawan. The movie earned grossing over 584.1 million worldwide and her acting was praised as well. The film was Tamil language production.  In 2019 she starred in Eternal Beauty an English film, where she played the character of Alex. She also acted on it. It is a Tamil movie and in the movie, she appeared as Delaney Pilar. CW network series Pandora, a sci-fi action series about a young woman, Jax. It was written by written by Mark A. Altman. In 2021 she starred in the movie Sardar Udham biographical historical drama film.  She was paired with Vicky Kaushal.

She is the Lead voice role of Skye Rowan Star in Stable: Mist fall (season 1). She was next casted in movie Mother Teresa and Me in the year 2022, that follows the lives of Mother Teresa and Kavita Mukherjee, that character is played by Banita. The movie was written, produced, and directed by Kamal Musale. In 2023 she appeared in Bridgeton Season 3 as Miss Malhotra.

Banita was part of a campaign of B Bvlgari Outhouse Jewelry and Penhaligon’s. She participated in various campaigns of designers including Anamika Khanna, Zara, and Sabyasachi. She was also part of fashion campaigns with The Nod Mag and Covet22.

Other than acting she also did music videos.  In 2018 she appeared in the music video “Jind Mahi” by Diljit Dosanjh. In 2023 she did AP Dillion’s song “With You”. Both of the songs are in Punjabi.

She had been nominated four times, with her most notable achievement being critical acclaim for her performance. She was also nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress for her performance in October (2018). Additionally, she was nominated for a South Indian International Movie Award for Best Debut Actress for her role in movie Adithya Varma (2019). In 2025, she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the ensemble cast of Bridgeton season 3.
